One Week Left in January: Still Time Get Fired Up About Your 2025 Goals!
Hey there, super seniors! Can you believe there's just one week left in January? Time flies when you're having fun, right? So, let's talk about those 2025 goals you set a month ago. Are you passionate about them? As a certified trainer working mainly with people over age 60, I know passion is not just a feeling, it's a powerful force that can propel you towards your goals. It's like a spark that ignites a fire within you, driving you to achieve your dreams. So, how do you ignite or restart that passion and make 2025 the year of achieving our dreams?
"Fall seven times, stand up eight."
Japanese proverb
Remember when you wanted something badly, like your first car or college? You were unstoppable! Barriers? Ha! They were just hurdles to jump over, not reasons to quit.
Now, even as seniors, the same principle applies. If you want to crush those fitness goals before you run out of steam, get passionate about them. Make them so essential and clear that you'd rather take action than sit back and relax.
BIG CHANGE = SMALL CHANGES + TIME
Remember, even small steps count! Think of your journey like a jigsaw puzzle—every tiny piece matters. Whether it's losing weight, earning a degree, or planning that dream vacation with your grandchildren, it's all about those little daily efforts.
“When you look at what separates top performers….It's most often the result of two or three more high-payoff activities taken every day”
Brian Moran
Refocus. What one thing do you want to do this year? Name your highest-payoff item. Write it down. Restart your new year today.
You don't need to climb the mountain in one leap; keep putting one foot before the other each day, each week of 2025. So, celebrate every small victory and keep moving forward each month of 2025. Your efforts are not in vain; every step you take is a reason to be proud. You've got this, and each daily victory, no matter how small, is a testament to your strength and determination.
“We do not cease to play because we grow old. We grow old because we cease to play”
George Bernard Shaw
“Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be…

Here are two articles that will give you what you need to keep going:
Why do weeds thrive and we struggle? Weeds are tenacious and can appear anywhere. The photo below shows a classic weed in a nice, comfy spot in a concrete shopping center parking lot. They pop up on sidewalks, along the road, and in gardens and flower beds without notice. And let’s be honest, we don’t particularly like weeds…
So, you are reading this article because your motivation is a 6 or 7 and you want it to be a 10? I know it can be hard to stick to your resolutions, especially when life throws unexpected challenges. But I also know that you have the strength, the courage, and the determination to overcome any obstacle and make your dreams come true.
Please don’t be discouraged if you feel like you have failed in the past year’s New Year’s resolutions. Failure is not the opposite of success; it is part of the journey.
“Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending”
“The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."
